新型コロナウイルス感染拡大の影響が長期化し、日本発着アジア域内コンテナ航路は荷動き低迷が長期化の様相を呈している。東西基幹航路は中国発北米向けを中心に荷動きの増加や運賃の高騰が続くが、アジア域内航路は荷動き・運賃ともに回復が遅れている。一方で集荷営業については荷主を中心に在宅勤務が続く影響で荷主による利用船社の変更が減り、コロナ以前に比べ集荷競争は下火となっているようだ。
