Air freight rates for exports from Japan are rising due to the recovery in demand. Although some passenger flights have returned, the supply cannot keep up with the recovery in quantity. Demand for automobiles and semiconductors is particularly strong for North America, and the spot base is three to four times higher than this time last year. The file rates (long-term contract fares) of forwarders and airlines that have been concluded for the winter timetable are also rising, and except for East Asia, where supply is relatively abundant, the high price is about 50% to 2 times higher than usual.
