With the Golden Week coming from the end of this month, there has been a proactive response in the air cargo industry.
Since the GW of this year is 10 consecutive holidays, before and after the GW in the cargo area, it is feared that the concentration of loading and unloading, and intensification of backlog may be more than usual. Many of the cargo docks at major airports, such as Narita, operate normally. They will prepare for staff depending on the amount of cargo coming in and going out. However, the cargo companies and forwarders have not yet forecasted cargo volume, this make some companies difficult to decide on staffing. Airlines and warehouses are asking forwarders for sharing shipping information from shippers earlier during the holidays.
