Thanks to the US-China trade friction, Vietnam's trade balance recorded a large surplus. The first half of the trade balance announced by the Vietnam Customs Administration (GDC) is a surplus of $ 1.59 billion. The government's forecast was against the $ 43 million deficit. Exports in the first half of 2019 were $ 122.53 billion (up 7.2% year-on-year), up 27.4% for the US and 16.8% for South Korea, respectively.
