5月25日、韓国の高麗海運が保有する香港登録船の爆発がタイ・レムチャバンで発生した。コンテナ内の危険物が爆発の原因であったと考えられている。 2019年5月27日時点で、A0、A1、A2、B1、およびB2ターミナルは入出港制限がかかり、再開予定は不明。他のターミナルは全て機能しているが、容量の減少に伴って遅延の可能性もあるという。
On the 25th of May an explosion on board M/V KMTC, a Hong Kong Registered vessel occurred at Leam Chabang port. The director of Thailand Port Authority later the same day said that the incident was under control.It is believed that dangerous cargo contents of a container were the cause of the explosion. Reports state that 25 people working at the terminal and on board the vessel were injured as a result. During the explosion, the vessel was berthed at terminal A2. As of 27th of May 2019, A0, A1, A2, B1, and B2 terminals are non-operational. At this stage it unknown when the terminals will be working again. It is reported that the inspection showed no dangerous chemicals inside of the container.Despite all the other terminals being fully operational, ports current reduced capacity can cause delays.
