国際空港評議会(ACI)がまとめた世界の空港ランキング(速報値)によると、2020年1～3月の国際貨物取扱量は、世界上位(2019年実績ベース)20空港中8空港が2桁のマイナスとなった。プラス成長したのは、ソウル・仁川(前年同期比+3.5%)、ドーハ(+4.7%)、成田(+1.1%)だけだった。新型コロナの影響で、年明け以降、徐々に国際旅客便の運航停止が拡大した。3月下旬ごろには、入国制限措置をとる国・地域の割合が世界の9割に達し、国際旅客便の運航がほぼなくなった。これに伴い、通常、航空機下部のベリースペースで輸送されていた貨物流動もなくなり、ほとんどの空港で軒並みマイナス成長となった。総取扱量の上位10位は次の通り。1位 香港(-10.4%)、2位 上海・浦東(-6.5%)、3位 ソウル・仁川(+3.5%)、4位 ドバイ(-14.3%)、5位 ドーハ(+4.7%)、6位 台北・桃園(-0.3%)、7位 成田(+1.1%)、8位 シンガポール(+8.0%)、9位 フランクフルト(-11.2%)、10位 アンカレッジ(-1.3%)。
