The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has announced the results of a Japan-Europe freight transport demonstration project using the Siberian Railway in cooperation with Russia. As a result of conducting four demonstration projects, the cost was slightly higher than sea transportation, about 1.5 times or more, and the procedural aspects of some cargoes were unclear due to the uncertainty of Russian regulations. Containers were reloaded at the loading port. On the other hand, although the transport quality of some cargoes was recorded as having slight slight shaking and sudden impact, no impact on the transported cargo itself, such as the transportation of precision equipment, was confirmed, and it was evaluated as "almost good." According to the lead time and customs procedures, "No major problems were identified within the scope of pilot transport."
