中国-欧州のクロスボーダー貨物鉄道輸送の実績が過去最高を記録した。中国国家鉄路集団によると、中欧鉄道列車、「中欧班列(CRExpress)」の昨年の運行実績は、計1万2400便(前年比+50.8%)、113万5000TEU(+56.5%)だった。年間の便数で1万便、輸送量で100万TEUを突破。中国発に荷量の偏る「片荷」の解消が進み、補助金に支えられていた運賃も定期運行の増加で安定してきて、商業利用が増えていた。昨年はコロナ禍での防疫物資輸送、さらに旅客便の激減した航空貨物、スペースが大幅にひっ迫して運賃が高騰する海運の代替輸送として活用が広がった。中国―欧州レーンの第3の輸送モードとして定着したといえる。
