日本通運の2019年4~9月期連結決算は、売上高が1兆389億円(前年同期比-0.1%)、営業利益が291億円 (-14.4%) 、経常利益が328億円 (-13.1%) 、純利益が119億円(-18.9%)だった。前年同期は半期ベースで過去最高だったが、2011年度4~9月期以来、8期ぶりに上期で減収減益となった。アジア向けを中心に一般機械や電子機器、自動車関連で航空貨物の輸送需要が減少したことで、日本、米州、南アジア・オセアニアが減益となった。減収減益を受け、通期業績予想の売上高を400億円下方修正した。
