UPS、カーボンニュートラル輸送オプションに補助　UPS Supports Carbon Neutral Shipping Options

UPSは世界環境デー(6月5日)を踏まえ、カーボンニュートラルサービスの利用者を支援する。今月中、同サービスで出荷した貨物のカーボンオフセットと同額を補助する。小口貨物1箱に付き70円の手数料で二酸化炭素の排出量を相殺。削減量が排出量を上回る「カーボンネガティブ」となる可能性もあるという。同社の最高サステナビリティ責任者（CSO）兼環境部門バイスプレジデント、スザンヌ・リンジー・ウォーカー氏は「地球を救う行動を推進することは、まさに世界環境デーを祝うための最善の方法だ。当社のカーボンニュートラル輸送オプションをより多くの顧客に認知・利用いただくことで、大規模な二酸化炭素削減プログラムへの支援を行い、輸送全体の環境に対するカーボンインパクトの削減を支援したい」とした。
