マースクは世界規模で組織改編を行い、ダムコの航空フォワーディングおよび海上LCLサービスをマースクと統合させる。LCLは1つのコンテナに複数の荷主の貨物を混載する輸送形態。現在のサプライチェーンにおける輸送ニーズを満たすには、さまざまな輸送モードの活用が不可欠とし、海上輸送を担うマースクがダムコを吸収する形でこのニーズに応える。マースクは世界2割のシェアを持つコンテナ船オペレーターとしてだけでなく、世界規模のコンテナ船アセットを基盤とする総合物流プロバイダーとしての立ち位置を、さらに鮮明にすることとなる。
Maersk will reorganize worldwide to integrate Damco's air forwarding and maritime LCL services with Maersk. LCL is a form of transportation in which cargo from multiple shippers is mixed in one container. In order to meet the transportation needs of the current supply chain, it is essential to utilize various transportation modes, and Marsk, which is responsible for marine transportation, will meet this need by absorbing Damco. Maersk will further clarify its position not only as a container ship operator with a 20% share in the world, but also as a comprehensive logistics provider based on world-class container ship assets.
