DHLは、年内にも最初の新型コロナウイルス用ワクチンの緊急使用承認が認められる見通しとなるのを前に、物流企業が直面するであろう課題を整理した。同社が発表したレポートによると、物流企業は世界で100億回分以上にのぼるワクチンをマイナス80度より低い温度で輸送するという、厳しい温度要件が課される可能性がある、と指摘した。そのうえで、ワクチンをグローバルに供給するためには「さまざまなサプライチェーン全体で最大20万パレットの出荷、冷却ボックスで最大1500万回の配送、1万5000回のフライトが必要」と分析。これらのロジスティクスを機能させるためには、各国政府と民間部門が連携した公衆衛生危機戦略と枠組みを確立する必要があると指摘している。

After that, in order to supply the vaccine globally, it is necessary to ship up to 200,000 pallets throughout the various supply chains, deliver up to 15 million times in the cooling box, and fly 15,000 times. He points out that in order for these logistics to function, governments and the private sector should establish public health crisis strategies and frameworks.
