日本通運は海上輸送と鉄道輸送を組み合わせたBCP対応用の輸入貨物配達ソリューション「NEX OCEAN SOLUTION BCP PACK EXPRESS」と「NEX OCEAN SOLUTION BCP PACK ADVANCE」の提供を開始した。NEX OCEAN SOLUTION BCP PACK EXPRESSは、中国華東地区から蘇州下関フェリーによる下関港までの海上輸送と、下関からの鉄道輸送を組み合わせた、東日本エリア向けを中心としたスピード重視のサービスで、海上輸送の半分程度のリードタイムで配送ができる。近年の大規模災害など、非常時の輸送対策に加え、東京オリンピック・パラリンピック開催期間の東京港港湾地区での運行回避が可能で、BCP対策にも利用できる。NEX OCEAN SOLUTION BCP PACK ADVANCEは、貨物量の増加で混雑する東京港への入港を避け、大阪港・博多港を利用し、荷揚港の倉庫で配送先ごとに仕分けを行った後、鉄道コンテナへ積み替えて指定先の店舗などまで配送するサービス。配送先物流施設での入庫・仕分け作業の軽減や、同施設を経由せずに店舗などへ直接配送することが可能になるという。
