日本通運の2019年4～9月期連結決算は、売上高が1兆389億円(前年同期比-0.1%)、営業利益が291億円 (-14.4%) 、経常利益が328億円 (-13.1%) 、純利益が119億円(-18.9%)だった。前年同期は半期ベースで過去最高だったが、2011年度4～9月期以来、8期ぶりに上期で減収減益となった。アジア向けを中心に一般機械や電子機器、自動車関連で航空貨物の輸送需要が減少したことで、日本、米州、南アジア・オセアニアが減益となった。減収減益を受け、通期業績予想の売上高を400億円下方修正した。

The year-on-year figure was a record high on a half-year basis, but sales and profits fell for the first time in eight quarters since April-September 2011. Profits declined in Japan, the Americas, South Asia and Oceania due to a decrease in air cargo transportation demand for general machinery, electronic equipment, and automobiles, mainly in Asia. In response to the decline in sales and profits, the company has revised its full-year earnings forecast downward by 40 billion yen.
